Campaign Update – Winter 2024

Dear Brothers,

To play on a well-known Tony Caridi phrase, it is and has been a great year to be a WV Alpha brother, wherever you may be! The bonds of brotherhood grew for many of us in 2023 whether through connecting with brothers at the Spring football game, our Homecoming and Founder’s Day celebration in October, or creating memories like singing our hearts out on the patio of the Pinehurst Inn..

Our life-long friends, professional careers, or the principles that guide our lives are all directly correlated to an individual experience that we shared at 780 Spruce Street. When we pledged our lives to a fraternity of brothers, I don’t think we all knew the impression it would leave and the lifelong friendships we would make. We were all blessed with something special when we joined our bond, and we want to see it continue and thrive.  Now we must pay it forward by providing a permanent foundation to support academic excellence, leadership development, and quality housing for the best Phi Psi experience.

Under the leadership of the House Corporation, the chapter is currently amid a $2.25M campaign to upgrade our beloved home and build an educational endowment to subsidize the chapter’s operations in perpetuity. This two-part campaign aims to not only elevate the physical wherewithal of the chapter house but also elevate its brothers who live within its walls by supporting their academic achievements and leadership development. We are beginning the last 12 months of our campaign, and it is critical that we all step forward to help right now. While 81 brothers have pledged to support our campaign to date, that is far too few given how many of us there are who have enjoyed the benefits of our brotherhood.

While we would love to get some six figure pledges, our $2.25M goal can be easily achieved if just 67 brothers pledge $25k. The $25k can be paid over five years and is tax deductible. And naming opportunities for rooms or pledges to commemorate a beloved brother who has entered the Chapter Eternal are added benefits of giving. There is a long way to go, but I am very grateful to all from the era’s shown below who have pledged their support!

I hope that you will respond generously now. Making a pledge to our fraternity should be a priority just like giving to your church or your favorite causes. Please support the chapter’s future by making your contribution or pledge to the Live Ever. Die Never. campaign!

In the Bond…
